New Pool Revealed at Westport

The Springfield-Greene County park board officially opened the 2012 swimming season on Thursday, May with ribbon-cutting activities to showcase the major renovation of the facility.  Built in 1977 the Westport Pool was completely reworked with a new zero-depth entry, water sprays, interactive water features, in-pool climbing wall, drop slide, diving board and shade structures, as well as a new filtration system and improved parking lot.

The $680,000 project was funded by the voter-approved 2006 Parks Sales Tax, which also funded pool improvements at Fassnight, Silver Springs and Grant Beach pools.
